Andrea Hartranft, IALD, LC

Andrea joined our firm in 1995, after working nine years as an in-house lighting designer with several engineering firms. She has extensive design and project management experience in lighting and dimming systems for commercial, institutional and industrial projects. She has received international lighting design awards from the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) for her lighting of the Woolly Mammoth Theatre and the Charlotte Douglas Airport Parking Deck.
Recent projects include Myrtle Beach Airport, Myrtle Beach, SC, Lowes headquarters (LEED Silver), Charlotte, NC, Howard Hughes Medical Center (LEED Gold), Chevy Chase, MD, Washington Gas Office and Industrial Buildings (LEED Gold), and PNC Diamond Club, Nationals Stadium, Washington, DC.
Ms. Hartranft is a director on the IALD Education Trust and a past Chair of the IALD Awards Committee. She is Chair of the IESNA Progress Report Committee, and has been a judge for the IALD at the local, regional and international levels. She also teaches fundamental and advanced lighting design in the Master of Interior Design program at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. She has spoken at the 2001 IESNA Street Lighting Conference in Orlando, FL and the 2007 IALD Annual Conference, in addition to being a speaker at Lightfair 2010 and the 2010 IESNA Annual Conference.
